Its October!?

That means Vermont Sheep and Wool weekend!! Will I see you there?

Its a sentimental favorite for me. I’ve been going since at least ’02. I brought home my first spinning wheel, my bunny rabbit, my second wheel and lbs and lbs (and lbs) of wool from this festival. It is much smaller then even the NH Sheep and Wool, I think its actually getting smaller every year, and I don’t mean that as a negative. The number of vendors and classes might be shrinking but the event seems more intimate and more local every year. More small farmer/producers is a unique and special thing. Three years ago the festival moved (again, its been in Killington and then in Essex previous¬† years) to Tunbridge VT which is just a few miles up the road from where I live and perhaps the loveliest place for a fair grounds. To me it is every thing something Vermont-y and sheep-y should be.

In honor of the Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival, I’m having a little sale on hats. Today and tomorrow only (10/1-10/2, same dates as VT Sheep & Wool) %50 off all of my hat patterns.

One Response to Its October!?

It’s been in Tunbridge at least once before, because that was the only time I’ve ever been to those fairgrounds. I agree I really like all the super-local vendors at our festival, although I think they’d have more repeat vendors if they didn’t shift location so much.

I hope you don’t get too wet today!
