Starfish Cardigan

Most people would like to go to the beach in Maine… in the summer. The Mister and I go in February. It’s cold, its windy, but its also beautiful. The ocean washes all the snow away and its incredibly liberating to walk a long sandy stretch of beach and only see a few other humans. We go every year, we get a room with a balcony that opens right over the water, something we could never afford even if we could get the reservation ‘in-season’.  Its easily the highlight of my winter, something I anticipate for months (yes, months) in advance. The only downside for me is there is not much to find when exploring the tide pools.

(Pattern is now available on Ravelry).

Oh my gosh, stop with the beautiful cardis already, I can barely stand it. All your lovely designs keep shaking my resolve to stay focused on what I’m already knitting.

Love, love this this. November is a great time to go to the beach too. Lots of storms and so interesting to see what’s washed up on shore!

One of the first trips I ever went on with my (then future) husband was to Bar Harbor in October several years ago. I loved it. Lovely pattern!
